The making of my own wedding...
My wedding is scheduled for July 2006, and I have been working like crazy on all the details. As one who may have came to this site looking for a ring bearer pillow, I could extrapolate that you, too are due to be married, or know someone in the throes of wedding preparation. So you know how crrrayyyzeeee it can get.
I have made my pillow, using a three layer handquilted petal design, sort of like the Glory Flower Pillows, but with smaller petals, so that the finished flower looks like a mum. The center has the covered button and green ribbons. I haven't decided if I am going to put bead on the ends of the ring ribbons yet. My S.O., Brett, goes for a slightly more suble design schema, so we went with one ribbon color. I was opting for ribons to pick up every color on the pillow. Didn't really work. Too much going on.
I do know that I am going to sew on a holding band, because my ring bearer, Evan, has all ready told me, in the way only a four year old can, that there is a good chance he plans to throw the pillow all over the place. Can I sew it ONTO him?
I am making all my own favors, which are bookmarks in small pouches, with handstamped tags. So far so good. Each bookmark, while having similar elements, is one-of-a-kind, with different beads, fabric and ribbons, but they
come together as a cohesive whole. I am very happy with how they are turning out. I'm psyched that I can make something that folks will take home with them and actually use.
I am also working on a covered guest book which will have the same green lily fabric as the pillow and the bridesmaids skirts, but the night only has so many hours...
Once I get that done, I will post it as well, of course. Meanwhile, all the things I am doing for my wedding, I can do for yours as well!
